肉態問答トリオ // NIKUTAI MONDO TRIO (Yosuke Yamashita, Tatsu Aoki, and Takahiro Tomasu)
A play on the novel "I am a Cat" (吾輩は猫である) by Japanese author Natsume Sōseki, "Wifi is a Cat" (WiFiは猫である) features legendary pianist Yosuke Yamashita with bassist Tatsu Aoki and dancer Takahiro Tomatsu, as the Nikutai Mondo Trio. After performing together in Tokyo, Japan, the trio performed at the 2025 Hyde Park Jazz Festival in Chicago, and the rough live recordings included in this album.
The album shares Yosuke's classic textures with Aoki's experimental tones and Tomatsu's footsteps audible in the background. Saxophonist Mai Sugimoto and taiko player Kioto Aoki join in on two songs.
